Thank you to all that made our first annual New Year's Eve Hertiage Ball a Success!

I am thrilled to share that our first annual New Year’s Eve Heritage Ball was a huge success! Thanks to your generous support and the contributions of our community, we have successfully raised $77,589 for our programming and expansion efforts. Your commitment to Senior Connections has truly made a difference and is driving real change in the programming we are able to offer our local seniors.

We are excited to announce that we will be expanding into Weimar and Flatonia this summer! We recognize the challenges transportation can create for our members living outside of Schulenburg. Rather than expecting everyone in the area to come to us, we hope to be able to serve more by offering programming closer to home. The day will include cards and dominoes in the morning, a hot nutritious lunch, lunch & learn educational topics, and bingo! The program will be from 9 am to 2 pm. We will be in Weimar on the 1st and 3rd Tuesday of each month and in Flatonia on the 2nd and 4th Tuesday. Our membership will be free for anyone attending, just as it is in Schulenburg.

Our programs allow our senior members to strengthen their cognitive, emotional, and physical health. We emphasize the importance of social interaction and mental stimulation to slow cognitive decline. Often, our members live alone and treasure a warm, home-cooked meal they share in the company of good friends. By participating in our communal meals, our members nourish not only their bodies but also their minds. This outreach effort ensures that all community members can access our invaluable programs and activities.

The success of fundraising efforts and the enthusiastic response from the community have allowed us to confidently say New Year’s Eve Heritage Ball 2024 is officially a go! Please mark your calendars and secure tables as we prepare for another unforgettable New Year’s Eve celebration!

Warmest regards,
